Eating out it is a regular occurrence for the people of Bangalore, and keeping in-synch with these gastronomic cultures, there are loads of great restaurants in the metro. Sunny's Restaurant Bangalore, a delicatessen and bar is the brainchild of Arjun Sajnani, Vivek Ubhayakar and Sunny - the golden retriever after whom the restaurant was eventually named.

Italian and continental foods are high on the gourmand's lists, and relishing them with good wines are always good times. So if you want to savoir authentic European gourmet spreads, then enter the epicure world of Sunny's.
Currently a 150 seated restaurant with a garden and bar, the eatery offers many choices for the gourmet diner; a non smoking section on the ground floor, a bar and lounge on the mezzanine and outdoor seating for 'al fresco' dining.
The decor is lovely, featuring glass walls, which drench the ground floor dining area with sunlight, making it perfect for a long lunch. The upper floor is a lounge bar where the atmosphere is very chic and casual - Bangalore's 'who's who' seems to love it, as do the expats. Ambience-wise, this place is simple, spacious and airy. Though, do be warned this place is likely to leave a dent in your wallet, but is worth every penny, so go ahead and splurge when the occasion suits you.
As you walk into the establishment, staff will meet you eager to assist. Staff at the welcome desk are delightfully courteous and will direct you to the bar on the mezzanine floor until your table is announced.
Both the food and bar menu is elaborate and creative, and invariably one could find what one fancied. All the dishes were described so those guests know exactly what they are ordering, leaving nothing to chance. Once seated, a breadbasket with hot garlic rolls and garlic butter will appear on the table, and will definitely disappear into your stomachs, such is the delightful taste.
Guests can start by digging into some great appetizers like golden fried prawns, goat cheese crostini, smoked salmon rolls with cheese, zucchini rolls with tofu and prawn cocktails. Or start with ginger lemonade, a tomato-mozzarella salad and a tuna salad. The lemonade is delicious and homemade. The tomato-mozzarella salad boasts baby plum tomatoes in a bed of mozzarella slices. The cheese is heavenly, absolutely fresh, nothing like what you buy in a store. As for the tuna salad, it is absolutely mouth-wateringly superb.
For the main course, order a Norwegian grilled salmon with vegetables and pasta - again, delicious. Calorie watchers can order some great soups like mushroom barley, iced gazpacho, pistou and puree of spinach. There are many succulent and fresh salad platters to choose from like Caesar salad, potato salad, tuna salad and mozzarella salad with onion, tomato and balsamic vinaigrette.
Pizzas like margarita, spinach and garlic, roast pepper and chicken, ham and asparagus and smoked salmon will send your tummy into a dizzy spell. Then there are many types of pastas and sandwiches to relish in. You can choose from a wide array of delightful vegetarian, chicken, seafood, beef, pork and lamb dishes.
The menu here is eclectic, and a few are the grilled vegetable platter, chicken breasts with leeks and saffron cream, grilled salmon steak, lamb chops, beef stroganoff and seared tournedos of beef in brandy and red wine sauce. No matter which main meal you decide to order, every dish served at Sunny's Restaurant Bangalore is expertly prepared, proudly presented, and exceptional in taste.
If you have kept some space for desserts, there are some sinful yummy delights on offer that will take your breath away. Lip-smacking items like Swiss chocolate truffle torte, lemon poppy seed cake, and lemon tarts topped with whipped cream, crème brulee and frozen rum raisin chocolate fudge is some of them. Likewise, the chocolate cake and the Devils food cake are to die for.
The campari gelato, which is basically, flavored ice flakes, but there is nothing basic about the taste, which can be described as unique and simply stunning. The restaurant tavern serves many types of imported and local spirits, and is a great place to set the mood on fire. There is also a heady collection of cocktails here like blue berry cobbler, tequila sunrise, ginger mint martini, ice bull, and a few with unusual concoctions.
Serving lunch and dinner for its very varied clientele, the restaurant offers pastas, pizzas, elegant main courses and scrumptious desserts for the discerning diner. A wine list that incorporates the best available liquors and wines, both Indian and imported, beautifully complements the fare at Sunny's Restaurant Bangalore. Hailed by food critics from the time Sunny's opened, 11 years ago, the restaurant continues to attract attention from all serious food lovers and also those who simply enjoy a memorable evening that ends with a sumptuous dinner and extraordinary desserts.
